Fes to Middle Atlas Mountains

The Middle Atlas is crossed by one of the principal access roads to the south of Morocco, connecting Fes with Tafilalet. Located at the northeast of Atlas. This Fes travel will begin from your airport or hotel at 9 AM where you will be picked by a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle. During our journey, we are going to make our first stop at Imouzzer, it is a beautiful village located between Fes and Ifrane. Then we are going to move towards Azrou which is an authentic berber village where people still live in caves and tents.

Next we are going to visit the caves, one particular cave that is quite popular is known as Mama Aicha which was built around 300 years ago. Here we are going to talk to the locals and with assistance from the driver you can even ask questions to the locals. Near the village is the oldest cedar forest in Morocco.

In the forest you can see Barbary apes if you are lucky, they can be often seen swinging through the trees. You will also get a chance to drink tea with a Berber family in the tent. Sitting in the tent you can ask questions to the locals to uncover more about this century’s old culture. After we are done with that we are going to explore Ifrane, everything from the flower-lined path and the French architecture.

About 15 kilometers from Ifrane you can find the beautiful lake Dayit Awa. This is an extraordinary natural landscape that you cannot forget for the rest of your life. It is an ideal place to sit and relax and enjoy the view. Then we are going to end the trip by heading back towards Fes.
